Brian Clough: I Believe in Miracles
Anyone seen this yet? Coming out on DVD/BR on the 16th.

Being referred to as the best football documentary ever made.

"Britain, 1975: Brian Clough is sacked as manager of Leeds United after just 44 days in charge. Seemingly impossible to work with, Clough’s only offer of work comes from a run-down second division club called Nottingham Forest, who are going nowhere fast.

Set to a fantastic 70s soundtrack, using unseen footage of games and the great man himself, and including interviews with every player from Clough’s European Cup-winning side, I Believe in Miracles is the untold story of how the team nobody believed in and the manager nobody wanted went on to beat the world’s best and become one of the greatest sides in British football history.

By turns hilarious, inspirational, emotional and epic, I Believe in Miracles is quite simply “the Greatest Football Film ever made” (The Guardian)."

I know it's not West Ham, but c'mon, it's a fantastic football story. And Clough was a proper football man.

Bonus points if you get the icon reference.

ooh, that's right - it's actually 2 reference for price of 1. Completely forgot about Tomaszewski.

I just always remember that clip of him, looking like a PE teacher, beating up the clown who invaded the pitch.

Re: Brian Clough: I Believe in Miracles
As a young kid I remember seeing Brian Clough as some sort of god like enigma. I can recall my dad always talking about him but as I was so young I never really knew much and can just remember references and clips of him.

As I got older obviously knew more about him and how great he was so it was with real sadness you watched the bloke decline. An images that stays with me is when Forest got relegated and he just looked beaten and finished. Booze had taken him over and he was sitting on the bench with his red blotchy cheeks and nose and he just had no more to give.

The man who was once invincible in every way was gone. Such a shame to see.

And on a positive note, after giving him an establishment-led royal fuck-around, the English footballing authorities can never hold what he did up and use it to promote all that is/was good in the English game.
